Laura Cayouette earned a Master’s Degree in creative writing and English literature from the University of South Alabama and was an English teacher at a Maryland community college when she realized she was supposed to be an actor. She has since acted in such films as, Enemy of the State, For Love of the Game, and Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Vol. 2. Laura has worked on many television shows including a multi-award winning episode of The Larry Sanders Show, as well as JAG and Friends and has appeared in more than fifty commercials. Though she loves acting and has been privileged enough to make a living at it, she truly found her voice behind the camera.
Laura's first short film, Intermission, was featured at a dozen 2004 film festivals including Big Bear Film Fest and Methodfest, where the film won one of its two awards. The short starred Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner, Six Feet Under), Julie Brown (Earth Girls ar e Easy) and Danica McKellar (Wonder Years) as well as over 60 women using a restroom during the intermission of a show. It was shot on Quentin Tarantino's 35 mm camera and received material support as well from Brett Ratner.
In 2008, Laura's first foray into producing a feature resulted in the release of Quentin Tarantino presents: Hell Ride, a biker flick starring Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen and David Carradine. Laura also starred in the role of Dani, receiving glowing reviews from the Chicago Tribune and the New York Post.
The feature script, Bitches in Heat, has just been optioned by Israeli Academy Award winning producer, Shuki Friedman for production in 2009 with Laura in place as writer, director and producer.
Lone Star Trixie is the reason Laura became a director years ago. She recently shot 8 pages of the script starring Academy Award winner, Richard Dreyfuss, as well as the up and coming Mircea Monroe (Drive).
